Job Specification – Senior Designer
Location: Remote (with monthly site visit to Hertfordshire)
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 DOE

About the Role
Our client, an established specialist within the façades and building envelope sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join their team. This remote-based role offers the flexibility of home working, combined with monthly site visits to Hertfordshire to support project coordination and design integration.
As a Senior Designer, you will take ownership of project design stages, lead technical outputs, and provide expert guidance across a variety of façade systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design process for façade projects from concept through to final detailing.
Produce and oversee high-quality technical drawings, models, and specifications.
Coordinate design information with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Review architectural and structural information to ensure compliance, accuracy, and buildability.
Prepare fabrication drawings, installation details, and material schedules.
Provide technical support during project delivery, including attending monthly site visits in Hertfordshire.
Manage revisions, updates, and quality control throughout the design lifecycle.
Mentor junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement of internal design standards.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Designer or Senior Designer within façades, cladding, curtain walling, or similar building envelope sectors.
Proficient in relevant CAD and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar).
Strong understanding of façade systems, materials, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent technical detailing skills and the ability to produce accurate, buildable solutions.
Strong communication and coordination capabilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
