Job Title: Design Manager
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Location: London / Southeast (depending on client office location)

About the Role
Our client, a leading specialist in façade design, engineering, and delivery, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their growing team. This is a key position responsible for overseeing the design process from concept through to installation, ensuring technical excellence, programme compliance, and smooth coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full façade design process across multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Coordinate closely with design teams, engineers, consultants, and site teams to resolve technical issues and maintain design intent.
Review and approve technical drawings, details, and specifications, ensuring alignment with project brief, building regulations, and industry standards.
Chair and manage design meetings, maintaining clear communication and documentation throughout.
Work with project managers to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Liaise with clients, architects, and main contractors to provide technical expertise and maintain excellent working relationships.
Oversee the production of fabrication and installation packages, ensuring buildability and efficiency.
Ensure all design information is fully coordinated, complete, and issued to support procurement and construction programmes.
Experience & Skills Required
Proven experience as a Design Manager within the façade / cladding / envelope sector.
Strong technical knowledge of façade systems such as unitised, curtain walling, rainscreen, and bespoke architectural solutions.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and lead multidisciplinary design coordination.
Excellent knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with clients and senior stakeholders.
Proficient in design and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks or similar).
Experience managing design teams and overseeing external consultants/suppliers.
A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach.
